Those who join in on the Paint the Town Purple fun will participate in several ways such as:

• Businesses are asked to share their purple pride on social media using the hashtag #ENDALZKnox.
• In addition to decorating and wearing purple, the Association is asking people to start a Walk to End Alzheimer’s team, and get involved in the fight through fundraising.

To spotlight the community’s commitment to end Alzheimer’s, the Knoxville office will be selecting the top four businesses that:

1.  Have the most creative purple décor
2. Register the most team members for the Walk to End Alzheimer's during the week
3. Raise the most money for the Walk to End Alzheimer's during the week
4. Overall Engagement

The Top 4 winners will receive a special shout out on the Tennessee Chapter social media platforms, which reach thousands of people statewide. Plus, they'll receive a plaque to display and a sign featuring their logo or team name at the Walk!

PTTP provides an opportunity to enhance community awareness and engage in conversations to understanding the warning signs. It is also important to bring to light the Alzheimer’s Association’s presence in the community and what we are doing locally to provide care, support and education - as well as our global efforts in research to find a cure.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Since 1989, the Alzheimer’s Association has mobilized millions of Americans in the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk®; now the Alzheimer’s Association is continuing to lead the way with Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
